A special thanks to Service Wholesale's Chuck Walker for this update on one of my favorite Picks from CAMEX 2010. The Pilot B2P (Bottle 2 Pen) pen is brilliantly designed to tell a story every consumer can understand. Just by looking at the product, the consumer can relate the shape and color of the barrel with the water bottles from which the barrel is made. While we've seen a number of "recycled" writing instruments, they've never quite reached the consumer appeal as have paper products. The B2P uses the top selling G2 gel refill, although if you're like me, I'm wondering how many people can hang on to a pen long enough to need a refill.
B2P has been so popular that Pilot is having trouble keeping up with the global demand. Fortunately for our channel, Pilot will not be shipping the carded version of this product until late spring of 2011. The open stock product which is currently available won't be seen in many mass retailers, giving us somewhat of an exclusive launch of the product.
